JEWELLERY: Rings & Brooches

Category Jewellery / Sculptural Objects
Concept Wearable Sculpture
Year 2018–2025
Pieces 19
Nineteen rings and brooches made to be worn.

Alongside branding and art direction work at un|frame, this is an ongoing personal practice: jewellery carved and cast in silver, worked in the round rather than laid flat on a grid. It's the same instinct for form and proportion that runs through the rest of this portfolio, applied at the scale of a knuckle instead of a page.

The set moves between registers without settling into one — classical portraiture and myth sit next to industrial hardware, a heron and a nautilus shell sit next to a raised middle finger. What holds it together is a preference for objects with real physical presence: weight, undercut, a surface that changes as light moves across it.

Material

Cast and finished in silver, left dark in the recesses and polished on the raised surfaces. A handful of pieces are set with cabochon stones or a single pearl.

Form

Figurative and mechanical references — a face, a bird, a shell, a piston, a saddle — reduced to the smallest form that still reads clearly at ring scale.
